For Zank. With love.
The new Pentax limited edition camera is off the chain. This camera would complete my collection perfectly…hmmm these are only offered in Japan and offered at the low price of ¥110,000.00. Maybe I’ll wait for v2.
Maira Kalman is having her first major museum survey of her work, Various Illuminations (of a Crazy World), at the Institute of Contemporary Arts at the University of Pennsylvania. Her joyful images make me smile. Happy Friday 🙂
I stumbled onto this great blog where the bookbinder saved all of her junk mail envelopes to use as pages of very unique journals. What an obvious and super fun idea for a book. She started with stacks (signatures) of cut open junk mail envelopes.
And ended up with these beauties:
All of the journals have envelopes for pages with the security patterns, plastic windows and stamps left in tact. I can’t wait to make my own. Thanks Rhonda from Canada 🙂Rhonda’s has great ideas for all kinds of books. Check out more of her work and blog here.
This video about the new Adobe Illustrator CS5 features are life changing for us designers. I can’t wait to use the “Perspective Drawing tool.” We would love to hear what your favorite feature is. Sharing is caring 🙂
Nick Deakin is an illustrator and artist extraordinaire killing it on the art scene in Sheffield, England. His young, fun style stands out with clean linework and simple, detailed shapes. His attention to detail is spot on and can layer with colors like a demon. Check out his workspace on one of my favorite blogs, Share Some Candy or see more of his work on his site.
Massive outdoor sculpture, larger than life wall paintings and psychedelic video installations are featured at Bangkok’s Art and Culture Centre this month by some insane artists. If you’re in the area it’s definitely worth stopping by. Plus admission is free! Located on the corner of Pathumwan Intersection, facing the MBK and Siam Discovery Centres.
Out of lighting ideas? Check out the Less Lamp by Jordi Canudas. The power is now in our hands! The Less Lamp is a sealed lampshade that needs to be broken in order to release the light inside. Pick axe included. These babies run at a steep $875 dollars but are a great addition to any space.
